Twin Engine · Multi-Engine Rating
One of the only multi-engine trainers available at a Maryland flight school. The Seneca is your platform for the Multi-Engine Land rating, an essential step toward a commercial or ATP certificate.
About This Aircraft
The Piper PA-34-200 Seneca is a twin-engine piston aircraft powered by two Lycoming IO-360 engines producing 200 HP each. With roughly 160 knots cruise and a service ceiling of 20,000 feet, it is a serious cross-country machine and the only twin-engine trainer at Harford County Airport.
Multi-engine training in the Seneca covers engine-out procedures, Vmc demonstrations, feathering, single-engine IFR, and all the skills required to pass the Multi-Engine Land checkride.
The Seneca is the approved platform for your MEL checkride. Most pilots complete the rating in 10-15 hours.
Practice engine-out scenarios, Vmc demonstrations, single-engine approaches, and feathering procedures.
Counter-rotating engines eliminate critical engine concerns and provide excellent training value.
The MEL rating is required for many commercial aviation careers and advanced professional paths.
Full IFR panel suitable for instrument currency and single-engine IFR training.
Very few local flight schools operate a twin. Having one at 0W3 keeps multi-engine training close to home.
