Flight Training · Career Essential
Add Multi-Engine Land (MEL) to your certificate in 10–15 hours. Train in Harford Air's Piper PA-34-200 Seneca — one of the only twin-engine trainers available at a Maryland flight school.
Overview
The Multi-Engine Land (MEL) rating adds a multi-engine airplane class to your existing Private, Commercial, or ATP certificate. Unlike most ratings, there's no FAA-mandated minimum flight time.
Harford Air operates the Piper PA-34-200 Seneca — one of the only twin-engine trainers available at a local Maryland flight school.
Multi-engine training covers asymmetric thrust, Vmc demonstrations, engine-out procedures, feathering, single-engine approaches, and everything required to pass the MEL checkride.
Learn Seneca systems, limitations, and performance.
Practice normal takeoffs, landings, climbs, descents, and cruise.
Identify, verify, feather, secure, and fly with one engine.
Practice single-engine visual and instrument approaches.
Complete the multi-engine add-on practical test.
